Cauchemar ------------- Nightmare

Après avoir découpé et enlevé tout le fibre de verre recouvrant le bois pourri, j'ai commencé a enlever le bois lui-meme. Ce n'était pas difficile, il était imprégné d'eau au point d'avoir une texture semblable a de la terre noire. Donc, j'ai démoli tout ces panneaux de bois pourri jusqu'a la structure en dessous. Et meme une partie de la structure était pourrite et nécéssitait d'etre démolie et reconstruite. J'ai constaté que le propriétaire précédent avait posé une seconde couche de panneaux de bois en dedans de la coque, par dessus les panneaux endommagés, pour les cacher. Il a appliqué ensuite de la peinture a base d'époxy afin de rendre le tout étanche. C'est ce qui m'a donné l'impression d'un bateau en bon état. La coque, de l'intérieur, semblait réellement saine. Eh bien, son travail de maquillage n'a pas tenu. Le froid en hiver a transformé l'eau emprisonnée dans le bois, en glace, prenant de l'expansion et faisant se fissurer la couche de peinture en de multiples endroits. C'est comme ca que j'appelle ca, du maquillage. L'escroc a pris une épave et l'a maquillé pour lui donner une apparence de bateau en bon état.

After I cut-off and peeled off the fiberglass over the damaged wood, I started to remove the rotten wood itself. That wasn't too difficult, it was impregnated with water and had a texture reminding me of black earth. So I removed the wood panels, until I reached the frame under it. And even a fair part of the frame was damaged too and needed to be demolished and remade.I found that the previous owner glued a second layer of panels inside, over the damaged panels, to hide the damaged areas. Over the added panels, he applied some epoxy paint to make the thing watertight. That's what gave me the impression of a fair boat with a healthy hull. Well, his nice make-up job didn't hold. Cold temperatures in winter turned the water trapped in the wood, into ice, expanding and making the nice paint job to crack everywhere. That's what I call it, make-up. The crook got a wreck and applied make-up on it to make it look like a boat in fair condition.
