Démolissons! --------- Lets demolish!

Fin septembre 2006, la nouvelle coque est batie par dessus la vieille mais la vieille est encore en place. Il faut la démolir mais de facon intelligente, graduellement, en commencant par l'arrière et en posant des cloisons qui vont rigidifier la nouvelle coque au fur et a mesure que je démolirai la vieille coque.

Si il y a beaucoup de pourriture dans cette vieille section de la coque, il y a aussi beaucoup de bois sain et le tout est assez lourd. Je découpe a la tronconneuse, des petites sections de la vieille coque, et je pose en place une première cloison. C'est a peu près tout ce que j'aurai le temps de faire avant de devoir fermer le tout pour l'hiver.

Late september 2006, the new hull is done, over the old hull, but that old hull is still in place. I have to demolish it, but cleverly, gradually, starting by the rear and installing bulkheads to stiffen the new hull as I demolish the old one.

If there's a lot of rot left in the old section, there's also a lot of still healty wood there too, and its pretty heavy. I cut off, with a chainsaw, small sections of the old hull, and I install a first bulkhead. Its about all I had the time to do this year as I have to close everything for the winter.
